Water-Jet Cutting

Banner Medical offers water-jet cutting services for plate material in stainless, titanium, and aluminum grades up to 5.00” (127mm) thick. This service provides custom shaped blanks that are ready for machining operations upon receipt. Water-jet cutting has distinct advantages over plasma and laser-jet cutting due to its ability to cut without effecting the metallurgical properties of the material, and the relative speed in which set-up and cutting operations occur. Medical device OEMs and Contract manufacturers routinely realize an increase in throughput and reduced scrap rates by bringing in material in a near-net shape form.

Commonly stocked materials in plate and sheet include:

• Titanium: 6AL-4V, 6AL-4V ELI, Commercially Pure Grades 1 through 4
• Stainless Steel: 300 Series, 400 Series, 17-4, 17-4 PH900, 17-4 PH1150
• Aluminum: 2024, 6061, 7075
