QRM

Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) is a University of Wisconsin-Madison-based program that helps companies with low-volume, high-variability or custom-engineered products reduce their lead times in the marketplace. Banner adopted the QRM methodolgy in January 2014, and has been able to reduce lead times by 50% in quoting, order entry, production, and shipping. Banner created two Q-ROC cells based on the commercial and medical markets served, each consisting of sales, administration, and purchasing. The purpose of the Q-ROC cell is to make sure each member knows how to complete the general tasks of each job function performed in that cell. Work instructions are shared and understood by each member. QRM has also been instrumental in building a relationship between the office and shop personnel.
